Charles Durkee

Charles Durkee was a Wisconsin politician and abolitionist who served as a U.S. Representative and Senator. A Free Soiler and Republican, Durkee was an early advocate for the anti-slavery movement and western expansion. He played a notable role in Wisconsin politics during the formative years of the Republican Party.
