Biography
Orlando Bolivar Wilcox was a Union general and engineer who served with distinction throughout the American Civil War. Born in Michigan, Wilcox graduated from West Point and initially worked on military fortifications before the war. He commanded various infantry divisions and corps, participating in major battles including the Peninsula Campaign and Petersburg, earning recognition for his tactical competence and leadership under fire.
