Biography
Phineas Taylor Barnum was an American showman and businessman who became one of the most famous entertainment impresarios of the 19th century. He founded Barnum's American Museum in New York City, which became a major attraction featuring curiosities, performances, and exhibits that captivated audiences nationwide. Barnum later partnered with James Anthony Bailey to create the Barnum & Bailey Circus, which became the most celebrated circus in America and toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe.
