Biography
Robert Cooper Grier (1794-1870) was an American jurist who served as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States for nearly three decades. Appointed by President James K. Polk in 1846, Grier was known for his moderate positions on constitutional matters and his involvement in several landmark cases during the antebellum and Civil War periods. He retired in 1870 due to declining health.
